The Arduino TFT screen is a backlit TFT LCD screen with a micro SD card slot in the back. You can draw text, images, and shapes to the screen with the TFT library. The screen's pin layout is designed to easily fit into the socket of an Arduino Esplora and Arduino Robot, but it can be used with any Arduino board.
TFT-LCD. By far the most common kind of screen used on mobile phones is TFT-LCD (often just referred to as LCD, since TFT-based LCD screens are the only type used in practice). It ranges from the
TFT, or Thin Film Transistor, is a type of LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen technology. TFT screens consist of a layer of liquid crystal material sandwiched between two glass plates, with a thin transistor attached to each pixel.

The ILI9341 TFT module contains a display controller with the same name: ILI9341. It’s a color display that uses SPI interface protocol and requires 4 or 5 control pins, it’s low cost and easy to use. The resolution of this TFT display is 240 x 320 which means it has 76800 pixels. This module works with 3.3V only and it doesn’t support 5V
In AM OLED display operation, the drive TFT is typically subjected to positive gate voltage bias (for an n-channel TFT) for the entire frame time (as opposed to only during the row address time as in an AM LCD). The TFT stability issues become more severe for higher gate drive voltages and higher operating temperatures.
The CRT display uses an electron beam to generate a picture, whereas the LCD uses a liquid crystal display to generate an image on the screen. CRT combines the two processes of light generation and modulation, and it is also handled by a single set of components. In contrast, the LCD separates light creation and modulation processes.
